Edwin Mwai

I am a multidisciplinary designer with a foundation in visual arts. This background has evolved into a more defined focus on industrial design, enriched by the application of human-centered thinking and strategic principles in my later years. My experience, including practicing user-centered design, has influenced a division in my creative approach, manifesting in two distinct avenues. The first involves a more traditional drive, where I delve into visual storytelling, expressing myself through a distinctive black and white illustration aesthetic. The second avenue is centered around product design, marked by an appreciation for consumer needs and product relevance. This encompasses various aspects, including product design illustration, user interfaces, and design strategy.

About my work
In crafting my monotone illustrations, I aspire for the viewer to embark on a personal journey into my chosen form of self-expression. I encourage them to shape their own interpretations and cultivate unique connections with each piece. My artwork consists of intricate line-work that holds its own form of expression, often bold and purposeful, in certain spirited moments can be playful. Movement is a core part of my art, as I aim to constantly draw the viewers attention to different parts of the composition as they discover elements that I weave into the arts fabric.
